BioPrime, Mosaic partner in India to combine biologicals with crop nutrition systems

June 1, 2026

India-based BioPrime AgriSolutions and The Mosaic Company have entered a commercial collaboration in India to integrate biological technologies into crop nutrition solutions, aiming to improve nutrient efficiency, crop resilience and overall farm performance.

The partnership will combine BioPrime’s biological innovations, developed through its proprietary SNIPR discovery platform, with Mosaic’s fertilizer and crop nutrition systems. The companies said the resulting Crop Performance System will focus on four key areas: metabolic efficiency, stress resilience, soil-microbe-plant interactions and precision nutrient assimilation.

“Fertilizers have powered global agriculture for over a century. Our partnership with Mosaic is about honouring that legacy while fundamentally advancing what fertilizers can deliver,” said Renuka Diwan, chief executive officer and co-founder of BioPrime AgriSolutions. “By embedding biological intelligence into proven nutrition platforms, we are not replacing the fertilizer, we are elevating it.”

Rather than replacing conventional fertilizers, the companies said the goal is to enhance their effectiveness by combining nutrient delivery with biological technologies that support plant growth and performance throughout the crop cycle.

The Crop Performance System is intended to improve returns on crop nutrition investments, increase productivity from existing farmland and help farmers achieve higher output without a proportional increase in environmental impact. The companies also said the platform is designed to be scalable across multiple crops and growing regions.

“Our collaboration with BioPrime is another step in building integrated solutions that help growers improve productivity, nutrient efficiency and overall farm performance,” said Robin Edwin, director at The Mosaic Company.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Headquartered in Tampa, Mosaic is one of the world’s largest producers of potash and phosphate fertilizers, serving customers in more than 40 countries. BioPrime, based in Pune, develops biological products focused on climate resilience, soil health and nutrient efficiency.
