Zydex looks to Cereals 2026 in UK for trial partners under ADOPT

Specialty chemical company Zydex invites farmers attending the Cereals UK event being held next week to join them under the UK ADOPT grant process for comprehensive on-farm field trials.

Cereals UK 2026 is taking place 10-11 June at Diddly Squat Farm, which appears in the television programme Clarkson’s Farm.

ADOPT is the Accelerating Development of Practices and Technologies fund for farmer-led R&D initiatives in England, funded by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and delivered by Innovate UK.

“Recent advances in biodegradable polymer science and soil microbiology are converging into integrated solutions. The SYNERGY platform, developed by Zydex, represents one such promising approach, combining proprietary micro-polymers with beneficial microorganisms to comprehensively address soil health,” said the press statement.

“The technology works by establishing a stable micro-scaffold within the soil matrix that increases porosity and creates billions of micro-reservoirs for superior water retention.”

Field trials demonstrate that farmers can replace up to 50% of conventional fertiliser inputs within a single crop cycle while achieving equivalent or increased yields, creating a pathway toward both economic and environmental sustainability, continued the statement.

Zydex is looking to connect with farmers at Cereals 2026 to become trial partners.
