Chengdu New Sun Crop Science Co., Ltd. has officially launched ClimaBio™, a biological climate management solution designed to help crops better respond to environmental stresses and support more resilient agricultural production.
The launch took place in Campinas, Brazil, at New AG International’s BioControl & Biostimulants LATAM 2026, bringing together representatives from industry associations, research institutions, universities, CROs, agricultural companies, distributors and industry partners.
ClimaBio™ is based on the concept of unlocking the biological intelligence already embedded within plants and transforming this understanding into practical agricultural technologies. By targeting plant signaling, growth regulation and stress-response mechanisms, the solution aims to support crop performance under increasingly challenging climatic conditions.
The platform currently includes Coronatine, Natural Brassinosteroid and six functional biostimulants, covering key agronomic functions including abiotic stress management, plant growth regulation, plant defense, nutrient-use efficiency, yield formation and crop quality improvement.
From plant signalling to field validation
At the launch event, Breno Juliatti, Technical Director of Juliagro, presented field validation results from Brazil for COR Coronatine and Natural Brassinosteroid.

During the 2025–2026 soybean season, New Sun collaborated with eight Brazilian CROs and research partners across multiple production regions. The trials evaluated different application programs under diverse environmental conditions.
Under severe drought and heat stress conditions, selected Coronatine treatments delivered an average yield increase of 8.69 bags per hectare across eight trial locations, while the strongest Natural Brassinosteroid treatment achieved a yield increase of up to 9 bags per hectare. Additional trials showed improvements in root development, with fresh root biomass increases of 41% to 53% in selected treatments.
Juliatti highlighted that multi-location validation is essential for biological products because performance depends not only on the technology itself, but also on crop stage, environmental conditions and application strategy.
Integrating biological discovery and innovation platforms
“ClimaBio™ is not a single product, but a biological solution built around a deeper understanding of how plants sense, respond and adapt to environmental changes,” said Tony Liu, Vice President of New Sun.
According to New Sun, the development of ClimaBio™ follows a research pathway that begins with field needs, identifies biological mechanisms in nature and returns to field validation.

Dr. Huang , Head of R&D at New Sun, explained that the company’s approach follows the principle of understanding natural processes and enhancing their agricultural value through precision engineering.
She highlighted COR Coronatine as an example. After scientists discovered its role in plant jasmonic acid signaling, New Sun developed biological production technologies to apply coronatine as a biological plant growth regulator for abiotic stress management.

New Sun has also developed GeneNavX™ functional biostimulant platform, which applies knowledge of gene regulation and signaling pathways to identify and validate new biological input materials.
Supporting the future of climate-resilient agriculture
The launch of ClimaBio™ reflects a broader shift in agricultural biological innovation — from developing individual active ingredients toward creating integrated solutions supported by biological understanding, field evidence and local application programs.
New Sun will continue collaborating with research organizations, CROs, distributors and agricultural partners to expand ClimaBio™ validation and application across crops and regions.
