The Citrus Committee of Frutas de Chile has presented its projections for the 2026 season, anticipating a 6% growth in overseas shipments. According to sector estimates, the total export volume will reach 530,000 tons, compared to 499,204 tons recorded in 2025, thus consolidating a sustained expansion trend since 2022.
The Committee’s president, Monserrat Valenzuela, emphasized that these results reflect the industry’s continuous effort to maintain its competitiveness in increasingly demanding international markets.
However, she warned that the campaign will be marked by significant challenges, especially in the commercial and logistics areas, due to United States tariffs—a destination that accounts for approximately 80% of Chilean citrus shipments.
Regarding performance by segment, lemons lead the growth, with a projection of 131,000 tons, representing a 14% increase compared to the previous year. Oranges also show notable progress, with 134,000 tons (+10%).
Meanwhile, clementines will register a more moderate increase of 5%, reaching 75,000 tons. In contrast, mandarins will maintain levels similar to those of 2025, with 190,000 tons, consolidating their position as the main variety in export volume.
