A subsidiary of Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals Corporation (DFPCL), Mahadhan AgriTech has entered into an understanding with Israel-based Haifa Group to promote high performing specialty fertilizers in India and other countries.
Formerly known as Smartchem Technologies (STL), Mahadhan Agritech Limited (MAL) is a manufacturer of fertilizers and technical ammonium nitrate (TAN). It is the largest manufacturer of TAN in India, and is a domestic market leader in specialty fertilizers and NP/NPK.
“This partnership with Haifa Group is yet another milestone in MAL’s journey towards transforming agriculture in India with customized crop nutrient solutions that deliver balanced and precise crop nutrition,” said Sailesh C. Mehta, Chairman and Managing Director of DFPCL.
This partnership will significantly contribute to speed-up MAL’s journey in the specialty crop nutrient market, the company said in its statement on the Indian Stock Exchange.
The release said that over 6 million hectares of agricultural land in India are currently supported by drip irrigation systems spread over most states. It encompasses a wide range of crops including fruits, vegetables, sugarcane, and many other field crops giving a ready platform to deploy the specialty water-soluble fertilizers, the release continues.
