ICL Group has started making shipments of products with eqo.x, its biodegradable coating technology for controlled release fertilizers (CRF).
The company announced the new technology, which is designed for open-field agriculture, in September 2022, saying it “is the first offering in the market to provide a controlled release fertilizer coating for urea, which biodegrades more rapidly, and was specifically designed to meet future European fertilizer standards set to go into effect in 2026.”
ICL has made its first deliveries of product using eqo.x to customers in the Netherlands and Switzerland, Ronald Clemens, ICL’s Global Product manager CRF, told New AG International. The product has been sold for potato and seed onion crops.
Clemens said that in the 2H 2024 the company will increase the volumes to West European markets. eqo.X will be used in ICL’s Agromaster formulations.
ICL invested $20 million in a new production line for eqo.x at the company’s factory in Heerlen, Netherlands. Read here.
