Glasson Fertilisers, a subsidiary of Wynnstay Group Plc, has opened a new 65,000-tonne fertiliser blending facility at the Port of Avonmouth, Bristol.
The company said the facility was already operating by the end of July and represents a significant investment in the company’s growth plans across the South West and Southern England, as well as South Wales.
The Avonmouth site features advanced blending and handling technology with built-in capacity for future expansion, says the company. Its location at a deep-sea port optimizes both raw material importation and distribution logistics, which the company says will strengthen its supply chain capabilities.
“Our investment is a clear signal of our intention to build our fertiliser business,” stated Robert Ingham, Director of Glasson Fertilisers. “We are investing in the people, infrastructure, and technology needed to ensure we remain a leading UK supplier.”
The expansion comes as Glasson Fertilisers continues to position itself as a key player in the UK agricultural sector, offering specialized soil sampling analysis and tailored fertiliser solutions that support sustainable farming practices.
With five manufacturing sites now operating across the UK, this latest development underscores Wynnstay Group’s commitment to the agricultural sector and its strategy to enhance its market position in fertiliser production and distribution throughout the UK.
