Cinis Fertilizer says it is ready to make its first delivery of potassium sulphate (SOP) to its off-take customer Van Iperen International.
The ramp-up of production at the newly built facility in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden, means the first shipment is planned for this week (beginning 1 July).
“Delivering a first load to Van Iperen International is an important milestone and a testament to the efforts of our employees and partners. The fine-tuning of the facility has taken somewhat longer than we had hoped for, and the work to get up to full production continues with the goal of increasing delivery volumes in the coming months,” says Jakob Liedberg, CEO of Cinis Fertilizer.
Van Iperen International has the off-take for the output of the 100,000 t/y capacity plant in Örnsköldsvik.
“We are very pleased with our partnership with Cinis Fertilizer and launching the Green Switch Potassium Sulphate puts us in the forefront of the green transition. We look forward to receiving the first delivery. I believe this must be a kind of world record, sending the first delivery less than 17 months after starting the construction of a greenfield project”, says Erik van den Bergh, Managing Director of Van Iperen International.
An inauguration ceremony for the plant was held 4 June 2024.
