Sumitomo Chemical Agro Europe and Valent BioSciences have unveiled a new biostimulant portfolio designed to support growers across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
The launch, announced during the Biostimulants World Congress in Barcelona, highlights the companies’ commitment to advancing sustainable agriculture through innovative, science-based solutions.
The portfolio integrates three proprietary technologies from Valent BioSciences: MCOM (mineral complexed organic matter), S-abscisic acid (S-ABA), and MycoApply arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF). These platforms aim to enhance plant vigour, nutrient efficiency, and stress tolerance.
Alberto Ancora, general manager of Sumitomo Chemical Agro Europe, emphasized the collaboration’s potential: “By combining Sumitomo Chemical’s regional expertise with Valent BioSciences’ advanced biological technologies, we are bringing a powerful suite of products that address growers’ most pressing challenges in productivity, quality, and resource efficiency.”
Key products in the portfolio
• MCOM Technology: Improves nutrient uptake and stress tolerance, with products like BoronBoost Prime for flowering crops, Zicron for early-season growth, and upcoming innovations such as TransTec Duo and SuperSede.
• S-ABA Technology: Enhances grain fill and sugar accumulation, with products like TopGrain and InGrain targeting improved grain quality and yield.
• MycoApply AMF: Promotes root health and soil productivity, with formulations like MycoApply DR for vegetables and vines, and MycoApply EndoPrime SC for broad-acre crops.
Matteo Sclocchi, vice president of global marketing at Valent BioSciences, noted, “Each product is backed by years of research and field validation, enabling growers to achieve stronger, more resilient crops sustainably.”
The portfolio is now available through Sumitomo Chemical Agro Europe’s distribution network, with additional product launches planned.
