Veganic launches VINTEC biofungicide

November 14, 2025

Veganic has launched VINTEC, a biological fungicide developed from the exclusive strain Trichoderma atroviride SC1, designed to provide complete protection against foliar and wood pathogens.

VINTEC has received registration ES-00468 in Spain, 2022-1133 in France, 17059 in Italy, 4198/116775 in Greece, and 3602 in Cyprus.

The development and launch of VINTEC was made possible through a strategic collaboration between Veganic and BI-PA, a Belgian company recognized for its expertise in biopesticide research and the development of natural active ingredients.

Veganic states that its high-concentration WG formulation (1×10¹⁰ CFU/g), causes spores germinate in less than nine hours and develop an active hyphal network within 17 hours. This rapid colonization allows intervention before the pathogen establishes, significantly reducing the incidence of diseases such as Botrytis cinerea, Sclerotinia spp., Monilinia spp., and wood diseases like grapevine trunk disease (Esca).

The product is especially recommended for vegetables grown in greenhouses or open fields, stone fruits, berries, and grapevine.

The company says the strength of VINTEC lies in its ability to act on multiple fronts simultaneously:

  1. Competitive antagonism: quickly colonizes plant tissue, occupying space and nutrients before pathogens.
  2. Enzymatic antibiosis: breaks down spores and mycelia through natural lytic enzymes.
  3. Direct mycoparasitism: penetrates and destroys the hyphae of pathogenic fungi.
  4. Pathogenicity reduction: “cleans” the plant surface, eliminating reinfection sources.
  5. Induction of natural defenses (ISR): activates the plant’s defense pathways, enhancing overall resistance.

This combined action ensures consistent efficacy for over 21 days, even under high fungal pressure, while producing no residues and no cross-resistance.

VINTECis especially recommended for: vegetables grown in greenhouses or open fields (effective against Botrytis and Sclerotinia); stone fruits (reliable management of Monilinia spp.); berries (control of Monilinia spp. and improved fruit quality); and grapevine (protection against Esca and other trunk diseases).

It is compatible with most fungicides and insecticides, and harmless to pollinators and beneficial fauna.
