Ceres Imaging has launched Portfolio Insights, bringing a new AI-enabled product suite that empowers teams with the data they need to simplify agricultural management.

The new suite of tools offers ag land investors, lenders, growers and crop insurers an easy way to collect, analyze and visualize their entire portfolio of farmland data to make better and faster decisions.

In a news release, the company says Portfolio Insights (PI) enables all participants in this ecosystem to execute tasks accurately and efficiently, at the altitude they require. The platform offers valuable high-level insights, down to boots-on-the-ground prescriptions.

“Historically, acquiring and managing underutilized and undercapitalized farmlands involved time consulting manual processes. Now with PI, these tasks can be automated and leverage accurate plant and field level data,” stated Ramsey Masri, CEO at Ceres. “Past processes to execute these tasks result in inefficiencies, inaccuracies and data fragmentation, making it challenging to effectively accomplish tasks like land acquisition due diligence, contracting with management companies, finding the right insurance, managing the farmlands and reporting to investors.”

PI benefits include scalable due diligence and monitoring process through remote assessments of targeted properties; an increase in operational efficiency by optimizing site visits; de-risk in investment from plant and field-level insights validation offered by landowners and farm operators; standardize and streamline stakeholder reporting; and, quick identification of fields at risk of under-performing and prioritize interventions to safeguard yield.

Teams can also compare field performance to a cohort of similar fields; assess the historical performance of farm operator practices; get a comprehensive view of the perennial and annual holdings being considered for acquisition through accurate, aggregated tree and vine counts and productive acreage assessments; accurately identify, delineate, and quantify vegetated and non-vegetated areas of fields; and, clearly understand the growth stages of the annual crops by tracking the planting dates automatically.

“To an end, PI lets us bring our solution to all the major players in the agribusiness ecosystem and help them reduce risk in their business,” added Anubhav Sharma, head of product marketing at Ceres. “The versatile data analytics platform enables growers, large agribusinesses, capital management, and insurance groups to make faster and smarter decisions.”
