Protealis secures European approval for MagNfix biological solution

Belgium-based Protealis has obtained European regulatory approval from EFCI (EU Fertilising Products Regulation (FPR) 2019/1009) for MagNfix, its proprietary soybean inoculant seed coating.

This is Protealis’s first biological product – the company is best known for its non-GMO legume seeds and seed technologies.

MagNfix is designed to enhance soybean yield and protein content. Incorporating a Bradyrhizobium bacteria strain adapted to European soils, the inoculant demonstrated impressive results in independent trials, with yield increases averaging +31% compared to reference inoculants and a +7% improvement in protein content. Delivered as a ready-to-sow coated seed, MagNfix eliminates the need for on-farm inoculation, offering farmers a scalable and time-efficient solution.

“With the European regulatory approval of MagNfix, Protealis is entering the biologicals market alongside its core activity in soybean seed breeding and commercialization in Europe,” said David Buckeridge, chairman of the board of directors of Protealis. “The combination of an expanding portfolio of high-performance soybean varieties and a proprietary inoculant enables an integrated, ready-to-sow solution tailored to European growing conditions.”

Protealis plans a phased pre-commercial rollout of MagNfix during the current season in key markets such as Poland, France, and Germany, with a broader commercial launch expected in 2027.
