Koch Agronomic Services (KAS) has announced the expanded uses of its liquid foliar product, OPTRIENT™ MoCo-Ni, to growers across the United States. Previously limited to fruit and nut trees, the micronutrient formulation can now be applied to a variety of row and specialty crops.
The ready-to-use liquid formulation delivers targeted applications of molybdenum, cobalt and nickel, which work synergistically to improve nitrogen utilization, mitigate crop stress and optimize overall plant performance, says the company.
“As yield goals continue to increase, micronutrients, in addition to macronutrients, play an even more important role in crop management,” said Greg Hunter, vice president of global sales at KAS. “Growers need products that are not only effective but also easy to use. That’s where OPTRIENT formulations can be impactful.”
Field trials demonstrate OPTRIENT MoCo-Ni’s effectiveness, with 2024 results showing cotton lint yield increases of 100 lbs/acre and up to 11% improvement in split nut percentages for pistachios compared to untreated crops.
The product offers broad tank mix compatibility with various nutrients, fungicides, herbicides and insecticides, providing growers with greater application flexibility.
KAS also offers OPTRIENT NITAMIN, a 30-0-0 foliar fertilizer featuring 60% slow-release nitrogen with low salt index and low levels of ammonia and biuret for rapid absorption and green-up.
