Agrobiomics secures EUR 1.5 Million from GUDP

January 6, 2025

Denmark-based bioag company Agrobiomics has been awarded a grant of EUR 1.5 million from the Green Development and Demonstration Programme (GUDP), organised by the Danish Agriculture Agency.

The company says the funding will support its BIORESCUE project, aimed at developing and validating a biostimulant to enhance cereal crop performance under abiotic stress, via the validation of PTA, a biostimulant designed to bolster cereals’ tolerance to stress factors.

CEO of Agrobiomics, Ananda Scherner, said the grant “will be key to substantially support the development of our technology and validate it in Danish conditions, allowing us to bring it to the market much faster.”

The project is supported by a consortium of partners, including the University of Copenhagen, Agrolab, and SEGES Innovation P/S. BIORESCUE’s project duration runs from January 2025 to January 2029.

Green Development and Demonstration Program (GUDP) is a development and demonstration program under the Danish Agriculture Agency that provides grants for projects working to make Danish food production more climate- and environment-friendly.

Last year, Agrobiomics announced it had raised EUR 4 million (US$4.3 million) from NOON Ventures to bring biostimulant Fortify to the market. With additional financial support from the BioInnovation Institute of EUR 1.4 million, the company continues to invest in further trials across different crops, i.e., soy, corn and tomatoes, and across various geographies, i.e., Europe, North and South America, Asia and Africa.
