Spanish biotechnology company Seipasa has introduced Basei Mg, a natural solution designed to enhance crop protection with fungicidal action.

Basei Mg is formulated with magnesium hydroxide – (Mg(OH)2 – and works through a threefold mode of action. It creates a stable alkaline coating on plant surfaces, preventing fungal germination and development. The product also generates a hostile pH environment for pathogens, impeding spore germination and penetration, while moderately activating the plant’s natural defense mechanisms.
With zero residual impact, Basei Mg features a 0-day pre-harvest interval and no maximum residue limit (MRL), making it ideal for crops destined for immediate harvest or markets with strict residue requirements. The product boasts a broad label that includes crops such as grapes, olives, stone fruit, vegetables, potatoes, rice, and cereals against diseases such as powdery mildew, olive leaf spot (repilo), downy mildew, piricularia and septoria, among others.
Seipasa’s launch of Basei Mg underscores its commitment to innovation and sustainability in agriculture. With over 27 years of experience, the company continues to pioneer natural solutions that balance efficacy and environmental responsibility, exporting its products to more than 30 countries worldwide.
