Renaissance BioScience Corp., a Vancouver-based leader in yeast bioengineering, has been granted a patent in Mexico for its innovative yeast-based RNA production and delivery technology.

This milestone marks the third patent for the company’s platform, following earlier approvals in China and Australia, with additional patents pending in other regions.

The technology enables the efficient production and delivery of RNA molecules at a low cost, offering practical solutions for industries such as agriculture, food, and environmental management. One of its most advanced applications is a line of RNA-based biopesticides that provide targeted pest control while minimizing environmental impact. These biopesticides are designed to work seamlessly with existing farming equipment and practices, making them easy to adopt for agricultural producers.

Dr. John Husnik, chief science officer and office of the CEO at Renaissance BioScience, highlighted the significance of the patent: “This patent from the Mexican office confirms the novelty and importance of our yeast-based RNA technology for producing, protecting and delivering next-generation RNA bioactive molecules. In addition to biopesticides, this platform offers exciting opportunities across a wide range of multi-billion-dollar commercial markets.”

The Mexican patent strengthens Renaissance BioScience’s growing intellectual property portfolio, which includes a range of patents for yeast-based technologies across multiple industries. This robust foundation supports the company’s mission to develop innovative, cost-effective solutions that address environmental and industrial challenges.

Renaissance BioScience’s expertise in yeast bioengineering has positioned the company as a global leader in creating functional microorganisms for applications in agriculture, animal and human health, food production, energy, and more. With this latest patent, the company continues to expand its reach and impact, driving sustainable innovation across industries.
