Rovensa Group has announced today, 5 December, that it has acquired Agro-K, a family-owned biostimulants developer in the United States.

Agro-K was established in 1976 in Minneapolis and has a portfolio of biostimulants and specialty nutrition products. According to today’s release, Agro-K will be integrated over time into Rovensa Next, which was launched in February 2023 by Rovensa Group and currently encompasses 10 companies from the group.

Javier Calleja, Rovensa´s CEO, said the acquisition was a step towards becoming the leading biosolutions player in the United States and marketing a full spectrum of solutions nationwide.

“Both businesses are highly complementary and share a common go-to-market approach, the vision of an increasingly sustainable agriculture and the concern for people and society at large, which will contribute towards a swift integration and a successful joint value creation journey,” noted Calleja.

Chapman Mayo, Agro-K’s president, added: “We are very excited about the possibilities that an integration with Rovensa brings to the U.S. marketplace. We strongly believe that the new products, technologies, R&D capabilities, and the global expertise that Rovensa brings will allow Agro-K to better service its customer base and ensure that Agro-K consolidates its position in the biosolutions arena.”

The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
