Corteva Agriscience has launched Corteva Biologicals, announced at last week’s Biostimulants World Congress in Milan, Italy.
Raphael Godinho, commercial director, EMEA, Corteva Biologicals, said biologicals is a rapidly growing market, and posits that in the next 10 to 15 years, it will be three times the size of the market today.
“This is a very exciting moment for us in Corteva Biologicals,” noted Godinho. “As you can see in our stand, we are announcing the three companies together, Symborg, Stoller and Corteva as one company focusing on the biologicals market and the biostimulants market. We’re putting the teams together, announcing our technologies together, and we have a chance to share a little bit about our business model going forward, where we really have a dedicated organization focused on demand generation, [with] farmers at the centre. I see a lot of excitement from our teams, but also from all stakeholders we have around.”
Godinho said the Biostimulants World Congress was a good place to make the announcement, due to the sheer size of the event.
“I think it’s a great event to meet partners, to meet people from the industry and also to have an opportunity to exchange [ideas] about new technologies, where the market’s heading, and [to] create business opportunities as well, not only for this year but also for the future,” he said.
“One thing that caught my attention is that we have companies from many places in the world and we as a global company, Corteva Biologicals, really value this opportunity as well.”
Godinho said the industry needs to consider what the challenges and the limitations are that need to be overcome. But he stressed that farmers today are becoming more observant about these types of technologies, especially biostimulants and also bioncontrol. And that it is possible to introduce and launch these new technologies, in conjunction or in collaboration with other technologies.
“That’s the differentiation from Corteva,” he noted. “For us, being a very strong company in seeds, crop protection, digital and biologicals, we can complete a broad range of solutions to the farmers to help them to increase their production in a more sustainable way.”
