Andermatt Group AG has acquired BioTEPP Inc., a Canadian company recognized for its biological pest control product, Virosoft CP4.
Founded in 1998, BioTEPP has worked with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada to develop the granulovirus-based biopesticide – Virosoft CP4 – that controls codling moth and oriental fruit moth, while being harmless to humans, pollinating insects and other beneficial insects.
Andermatt told 2BMonthly that the company is planning to explore further market opportunities for Virosoft through its network of subsidiaries and third-party distributors worldwide.
“We are excited to join forces with the Andermatt Group, a company that shares our dedication to innovation and sustainability,” said Claude Gagnon, president of BioTEPP Inc., headquartered in Quebec. “This partnership will enable us to expand the reach of Virosoft CP4 and continue developing new solutions for pest management that will make a significant impact on sustainable agriculture globally.”
“We are thrilled to welcome BioTEPP Inc. to the Andermatt Group,” added Daniel Zingg, CEO of Andermatt Group AG, which is headquartered in Switzerland. “This acquisition aligns perfectly with our vision to advance sustainable agriculture through innovative biological solutions, enabling the production of healthy food and a healthy environment, for all. We look forward to leveraging our combined expertise to the benefit of growers around the world.”
