Romanian company Norofert is set to begin commercial production at its new factory in South Dakota, USA.

A specialist in regenerative agriculture and one of the largest input producers in Romania, Norofert has completed a new production line of 8,000 litres/day for its foliar nutrition range.

“We are pleased to announce the completion of the fertilizer production line in the USA and to deliver the first orders for the organic fertilizers produced by Norofert in the USA,” said Vlad Popescu, President of the Board, Norofert.

“We have made an essential step in our growth strategy, with our products meeting the technological standard demanded by the American market. The fertilizers and soil health products are based on microorganisms developed in the laboratory in Romania.”

Norofert said the fertilizer production line is fully automated and would have a reduced number of employees in the first year of operation. “The investment in the production line, amounting to EUR 250,000, was carried out through Norofert AG, a subsidiary based in Watertown, South Dakota,” the company said in its statement.
