New Ag International partners with the organizers of the 6th International ISHS Symposium on Mineral Nutrition of Fruit Crops
The symposium, which will take place at the University of Algarve, Faro (Portugal) on 19-23 May 2008, follows the one held in Talca, Chile in 2005. The main topics covered will be soil and rhizosphere effects on root growth and plant nutrition, nutrient uptake and utilization, diagnosis of nutrient deficiency and toxicity, fertilization practices and their environmental impacts, nutritional implications of organic management, cycling and traceability of nutrients in the orchard ecosystem, interaction between root growth and nutrition, mechanisms of foliar uptake, low input and precision agricultural systems, non-mineral compounds that affect plant nutrition, interaction of nutrition with orchard management practices, salinity and mineral nutrition, mineral nutrition and human health, relationship between nutrient status and pathogens, effect of mineral nutrition on fruit quality and mineral disorders and it will also explore its linkage to water savings. The beautiful city of Faro is an ideal venue for the event.
