The dates & venue for the Next International Plant Nutrition Colloquium now announced
XVI International Plant Nutrition Colloquium Plant Nutrition for Sustainable Development and Global Health 26-30 August, 2009 Sacramento Convention Center, Sacramento, California, USA
This colloquium, held every 4 years, follows the one held in Beijing in September 2005, whose theme was Plant Nutrition for Food Security, Human Health and Environmental Protection. This great congress, where more than 600 delegates from every corner of the world are expected, will provide a forum for the exchange of knowledge, information and ideas amongst researchers in the field of plant nutrition with a focus on sustainable development and Global Health. The colloquium will include research topics on physiological, genetic, molecular, and ecological aspects of plant nutrition, plant-soil and plant-symbiotic microbe interactions, plant quality, soil nutrient dynamics, and nutrient management, for the sustainable development of agriculture and the environment. It will be hosted by the world-famous University of California, Davis, Department of Plant Sciences. The Colloquium President is Patrick Brown, Professor of Plant Nutrition and Chair of International Agricultural Development Graduate Program at UC Davis. Professor Brown has also very often contributed to New Ag International activities, by providing editorial in our magazines, answering interviews and being a keynote speaker at a number of our conferences.
