Biolchim returns 100% Italian
According to a recent announcement, the 50% Biolchim share held by Kemira since 1999 has definitely been fully returned to Italian shareholders. A private Italian Equity Investment Fund lead by IMI Sanpaolo Bank has acquired the majority of Biolchim shares.
Gianni Zamboni, the founder, remains as President. Alastair Fraser (Managing Director) and Peter Marti (Export Manager) have acquired through a management buy-out a consistent quota as well.
The new ownership, financially strong and business oriented allows Biolchim to pursue a strong role in the “specialty fertilizers” segment, with its more than 30 years of experience. As well as Biolchim’s already existing subsidiary in Tunisia, in order to achieve an ambitious world wide growth strategy, the company is in the process of shortly finalizing company buy-outs and joint ventures, with the aim of appointing Biolchim subsidiaries in Germany, Spain, Turkey (with a new production plant), Brazil and Latin America.
A serious development plan has also been foreseen for the Middle East, North Africa, East Europe and the Far East through the existing distributors network.
